Everyone remembers the traditional Bingo song about a farmer who had a dog and Bingo was his name-o. Now let’s sing this nursery rhyme together with your little kids.
This is a typical counting-down song in which one letter is removed from the name and replaced with a hand-clap.
Here are some suggestions on how to use the nursery rhyme. Revise the names of the letters with your kids. Introduce The Bingo Song by singing it to your kids. When it comes to the replaced letter or letters, clap together with your little learners and then point at the letters which are still to be pronounced. Ask your little learners to sing some of the words and later lines without you. Gradually they will be able to do that without your help at all.
When they have learned the song and are quite confident, you can add some other movements instead of clapping: tapping, patting there tummies, patting their laps, jumping, and so on. Don’t be afraid to use your imagination at this stage.
