In this lesson, students will preview a decimal diving project that uses math questions to make the lion Actor’s roar reduce the bull Actor’s power. Next, students will follow a step-by-step tutorial in the DIY (do-it-yourself) module to create their own version of the project they just previewed. They will program the Stage to ask the player questions, send and receive messages, and make the Actors shrink in size.
After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions that involve dividing numbers by ten, one hundred, one thousand, and ten thousand. By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., loops, input/output, messaging, sound playing, delays) while creating an interactive project about dividing with decimal numbers.
