In this lesson, students will preview an interactive example of a project about long division. Next, students will follow a step-by-step tutorial in the DIY (do-it-yourself) module to create their own version of the project they just previewed. They will demonstrate the process of long division, broadcast a message with “broadcast” code blocks, and create their own descriptions. If students finish early, ask them to look at the bonus section in step 5/5 of the tutorial, which encourages them to show their neighbor their project and add more clarification (if needed).
After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions involving long division. By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., simple events, input/output, messaging, visibility) while creating an interactive project about long division.
