In this lesson, students will preview three different synonyms of the word “considerate,” then use code blocks to create an interactive project about synonyms. Coding activities include making the Actors draggable, using the “when touching occurs” block to reveal the synonym, and using “say” blocks to say synonyms. Students are provided the necessary visual assets (backgrounds, Actors) and code blocks in the DIY module.
After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions about synonyms. Words mentioned in the quiz include "considerate," "happy," "large," "small," "mean," "kind," and "hardworking." By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., simple events, loops, conditions, conditionals, motion, messaging) while reinforcing new words.
