Social Studies Lesson - Goods and Services, Grade 1

  • Activity 1 / Community Helper Trivia

  • Activity 2 / Goods and Services Worksheet

We all depend on goods and services, and the people who make our daily lives run smoothly. Teach your child more about everyday life and the people and things that are the most important, with this community helpers worksheet: Goods and Services!
Offer this worksheet to help your child:
    • Gain a better appreciation of community helpers and the goods they provide
    • Understand the difference between goods and services
Kids grow up to contribute to the community if they learn to appreciate it from an early age. Use this worksheet to bring a new awareness to the goods and services most important to everyone in your child’s community!

  • Activity 3 / Goods and Services: Matching Worksheet

What are Goods? Goods are things that you use, eat or drink. The difference between goods and services is that a service is something or an act that someone does for you. Ask your kids if they can give you common examples of goods and some examples of services they see being rendered. Now, look at the pictures in this worksheet. Can your kids identify each of the people and places on the left side of the printout? Ask them to check the goods or services these people or places provide from the options on the right side.

Daughter's favorite
Still a top favorite for our 7 year old. She loves earning her stars as she learns to trace letters and numbers. Coloring and the sounds are engaging and are on target for her age group and being Pre K.
