Math Lesson - Tell Time by the Hour and by the Half Hour, Grade 1

  • Activity 1 / Telling Time by the Hour: Analog Clock Worksheet

How skilled are your kids at telling the time? If you still have some doubts about their time-telling abilities, you are bound to get all your answers after this worksheet. There are four different clocks in this exercise. If your child can, ask them to tell you what kind of clocks each one is. Then, ask your child if they can tell you the time each clock says. Help them circle the correct time for each clock from the options on the left side.

  • Activity 2 / Telling Time by the Hour: Digital Clock Worksheet

Explain to your students that there are digital clocks, and then analog clocks. This worksheet deals with digital clocks, so your child must be at least familiar with them before you begin. Now, together with your little clever minds, have a look at the digital clocks in this exercise. Help them answer the questions below by checking the correct answer. The questions are simple and will stimulate your child’s young mind.

  • Activity 3 / Tilling Time by the Hour: a.m. or p.m.? Worksheet

Can your child tell the time already? If they are still having some difficulties correctly telling the time, then this worksheet will be a real help for them. A day is divided into two periods called a.m and p.m; teach these two very important facts to your children first. Then, look at the pictures in the exercise with your little ones. Can your child identify if the activities occur in the a.m or the p.m? Help them check the correct time.

  • Activity 4 / Afternoon Plan: Digital and Analog Clocks Worksheet

Tom has some Sunday plans, and your kids can help him properly time them with this awesome worksheet. Have you taught your kids how to tell the time? If you have, how well are they able to identify and correctly tell the time now? In this simple tracing sheet, your kids will look at Tom’s Sunday plans. Help them trace on the dotted lines from each plan to the correct clock. At the end of this exercise, your child will be much better at correctly translating digital time into analog time.

Daughter's favorite
Still a top favorite for our 7 year old. She loves earning her stars as she learns to trace letters and numbers. Coloring and the sounds are engaging and are on target for her age group and being Pre K.
