In the United States, there are three branches or tiers of government, and each one has their own areas that they deal with. The legislative branch of government makes the laws that govern the area, they are the lawmakers. The executive branch of government enforces the laws to make sure the citizens follow them. And, the judicial branch of government reviews laws to make sure that they are fair.
