Sometimes the best way to learn new words is simply by reading! Using context clues based upon the other words in a passage, we can successfully infer the meaning of the word in question. This brilliant worksheet does exactly that, by providing your child with an interesting story about a cute little fox family. While reading, your child will learn that the word “kits” actually refer to baby foxes. Just read the text with your child and circle the picture below it to answer the question.

Required skills:
Students should know how to use context clues to infer the meaning of a new word. In this case, they should understand that "kits" refers to baby foxes by reading the story and using the context of the other words to figure it out. They should also be able to circle the picture that matches the description in the story.

Daughter's favorite
Still a top favorite for our 7 year old. She loves earning her stars as she learns to trace letters and numbers. Coloring and the sounds are engaging and are on target for her age group and being Pre K.
