Simple Machines: Screw Worksheet
When your kids hear that they will be learning about simple machines, you can hook their interest even further by explaining to them that most of their favorite swings on the playground are also simple machines. Ask them to tell you what some of their favorite swings are. Most simple machines are held together with screws. A screw is an inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder. Look at the pictures here and help your kids circle the objects which use a screw to operate.
