Irregular Past Tense Verbs

Have some grammar fun with this video from Kids Academy! Students learn about irregular verbs and help King Arthur find his sword at the end of a maze.

The teacher defines irregular verbs and reads the directions on how to work through the maze. Students will trace a line to the stones that have an irregular verb written on them. The directions remind students that irregular verbs do not have an -ed ending. Tracing the correct lines will lead King Arthur to the sword and the stone at the end.

The teacher explains an easy way to determine whether or not the answer choices are irregular verbs. Try using each answer choice in a past tense sentence. Does the verb make sense? If the verb makes sense and does NOT end in -ed, then it is the correct answer.

Irregular verbs do not follow the usual rule for past tense verbs. Mastering irregular verbs is challenging, so use this video for practice in your grammar classes.
