A synonym is a word which is very similar in meaning to another given word. Synonyms of the word ‘happy’ include ‘joyful’, ‘glad’ and so on. An antonym, on the other hand, is a word that means nearly the opposite of a given word. Antonyms of the word ‘bad’ include ‘good’ and ‘kind’. Now, ask your child to give you examples of two synonyms each, and two antonyms. Test their knowledge further with this exciting worksheet. Ask your kids to read the words, and check the correct box for each row, identifying if the words are synonyms or antonyms.
