The AI Vowel Pair Worksheet
Vowel pairs come together to make sounds that are different from what the individual letters would make. Often, the letters ‘ai’ work perfectly together to make the vowel pair; the long /a/ sound. For example, the sound found in the word ‘brain’ and ‘strain’. Your kids should look at the pictures in this simple worksheet. Ask them to identify each of the pictures and say the name out loud. Then, help them circle the words that have the long /a/ sound in the printout.
