The phonetic sounds are many in number, and each one has its own unique sound. However, some of these sounds can be joined together to form a new one. When two or more consonants are joined together and form a new sound, the sounds are called a digraph. For example, the sh digraph makes the /sh/ sound. Look at the pictures in this worksheet with your kids. Ask them to say the words aloud. Then, help them circle the images that end in the /sh/ sound, such as the word ‘wash’.

Required skills:
To solve this worksheet, students should know what a digraph is, how it is formed and how it sounds, specifically the "sh" sound. They should also be able to recognize words that contain the "sh" sound at the end, read them correctly and match them with the corresponding image.
