Phonetics sounds can be joined together to make a new sound. When two or more consonants are joined together and form a new sound, they are called a digraph. The ch digraph forms the /ch/ sound. Look at the images in this worksheet with your students and ask them to identify each of the objects. If they have little problems naming the pictures, help them check the images that have the /ch/ digraph in the colourful printout.

To complete this worksheet, students should know about phonetics and how sounds can be combined to form new sounds. They should also be able to identify the ch digraph and recognize the /ch/ sound.
