In this lesson, students will play a quiz game and answer decimal math questions by clicking on the banana Actor with the correct answer. Next, students will follow a step-by-step tutorial in the DIY (do-it-yourself) module to create their own version of the project. They will create their own decimal math problems, send and receive messages, verify answers, create a function to ask questions, and make Actors react to correct and incorrect answers. Note: A function is a sequence of commands that can be run together as if it were a single command.
After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions involving adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimal numbers. By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., input/output, simple events, messaging, functions, loops, basic math) while creating a decimal math quiz game.
