In this lesson, students will preview an example of an interactive project about volume. Next, students will follow a step-by-step tutorial in the DIY (do-it-yourself) module to create their own version of the project they just previewed. They will demonstrate the equation for the volume of a rectangular prism, send and receive messages from different Actors, and customize costumes for Actors. If students finish early, ask them to look at step 5/5 of the tutorial, which encourages them to use the given code blocks and add motion effects. After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions involving volume. By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., simple events, costume handling, motion, messaging) while creating an interactive project about the equation for volume.
