In this lesson, students will play a multiplication quiz game that involves dragging the given product to its matching sum. Next, students will follow a step-by-step tutorial in the DIY (do-it-yourself) module to create their own version of the quiz game they just played. They will customize the background and Actors, make the Actors draggable, and detect collision. Encourage students to experiment with their code, add more math problems, collaborate quiz game ideas with their neighbors, and play each others’ projects. After completing the DIY module, students will be asked 5 quiz questions involving multiplication. By the end of the lesson, students will have experimented with coding concepts (e.g., simple events, loops, motion, input/output, costume handling) while reinforcing different multiplication problems.
